About the role:

As a Lead Software Engineer at Mantel Group you will enjoy working on a diverse and exciting range of projects. We are a technology agnostic business which opens endless possibilities for you to work across multiple tech stacks and multiple platforms with the opportunity to upskill and cross skill.

Your day to day:

• Thrive in our collaborative, flat-structured environment, where your day-to-day work is all about teamwork and shared decision-making

• Work on greenfield projects for Australia’s biggest household names and develop high-quality code that can function with existing code, patterns and architectural techniques

• Implement technology solutions that meet and exceed customer requirements and expectations

• Develop high-quality code that can function with existing code, patterns and architectural techniques

• Effectively utilise development best practices such as CI/CD and test integrations

• Ensure appropriate quality is maintained through practices such as unit testing

• Design systems that can be managed effectively in production environments

• Help our clients maintain and run reliable applications and systems

• Lead small teams - delegate effectively, communicate and develop others

• Proactively identify and address issues outside of direct responsibility

• Go-to expert in one or more technical areas

• Help our clients maintain and run reliable applications and systems

What you’ll need to be successful:

• Solid experience building rich applications with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Vue.js & Node.js.

• Strong experience using testing frameworks such as Jest and Cypress and integrating these with CI/CD

• Strong technical and team leadership having both led the technical direction on projects and also software engineering teams

• Experience in developing applications on both 'greenfield' projects & existing applications.

• Knowledge of common productivity tools such as Gulp/Webpack & GIT source control.

• Experience with functional programming and CI/CD.

• A good understanding of modern development frameworks, industry trends and best practice
