About the role
This role leads a team of Tech Ops & Systems experts, whilst also rolling their sleeves up and involved in executing & completing initiatives, in essence a ‘player & coach’ position. Sitting within the broader People Experience team, this role is essential for enabling our future business growth supporting our people in the most effective way possible.
Your day-to-day
Tech Operations - lead and oversee day-to-day technology operations, ensuring smooth functioning of systems, networks and infrastructure. Ensure effective deployment, maintenance, support on issues and optimising organisational productivity.
Leadership - provide strategic & people leadership of the function. Establishing clear strategic direction, an effective team & stakeholder cadence, proactively sharing strategy & priorities with key stakeholders. Work with the team to ensure effective execution of the strategy and continuous uplift of the function. Lead as ‘player & coach’ - leading the team whilst also rolling sleeves up and getting involved in executing & completing initiatives.
System Admin & Maintenance - lead and oversee day-to-day admin of core business systems, including user management, controls, data integrity and system health & performance. Ensure proactive resolution of security vulnerabilities.
Vendor Management - manage portfolio of external technology vendors, maintain relationships, stay informed about and action updates. Identify opportunities for, and make appropriate changes - in consultation with stakeholders - to optimise our investment in technology tools.
System Implementation - lead implementation of new systems and tools across the business, working closely with other teams and stakeholders to ensure fit for purpose and incorporating appropriate security controls.
Security Risk Management - support CISO in conducting security risk assessments of business systems and technology stacks, ensure controls to mitigate risks are implemented, monitored and operate effectively. Lead completion of client security questionnaires and work with CISO to define and ensure effectiveness of ISMS, incl. ISO27001 compliance.
Process Automation & Workflow Optimisation - identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and manual processes, leveraging technology to increase productivity. Work with stakeholders to design & implement workflow optimisations that streamline operations and increase efficiency.
Business Collaboration - work closely with business stakeholders to understand their technology and security needs, identify technology initiatives and prioritise initiatives accordingly.
Technology Projects - manage the initiation and planning of technology projects in line with best practice implementation methodologies (Agile). Drive projects to completion whilst engaging & managing stakeholders along the way.
What you’ll need to be successful
Proven experience in a startup, scale up or high growth organisation and the evolving technology requirements that support future growth required.
Experience in a similar role within a “people based” business environment, for e.g. professional services, technology or digital focussed organisations preferred.
Experience working in a hybrid organisation and the complexities that poses with technology.
'A forward-thinking mindset with an eye for leveraging AI to drive operational excellence and smarter decision-making across the tech function.
Understanding of best practices with a pragmatic approach to know when and where to apply these.
A consultative approach with strong communication skills and the ability to articulate complex technical requirements in simple & easy to understand terminology.
