About the role:

As a Lead Consultant within QA at Mantel, you will enjoy working on a diverse and exciting range of projects. We are a technology agnostic business which opens endless possibilities for you to work across multiple tech stacks and multiple platforms with the opportunity to upskill and cross skill.

Your day-to-day:

• Lead Quality Strategy: Design and articulate end-to-end test strategies for clients, leading technical QA discussions with stakeholders and advocating for best practices across the software delivery lifecycle.

• Build Test Frameworks: Architect and build robust, scalable test automation frameworks from scratch (utilizing BDD/TDD principles) across Web, API, and Mobile platforms.

• Write Code & Automate: Script test suites using technologies like JavaScript/Node.js or Java, and integrate automated tests directly into CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery.

• Perform Specialized Testing: Execute performance and load testing where needed to ensure client solutions are resilient, scalable, and cloud-ready.

• Drive Thought Leadership: Stay ahead of emerging testing tools and industry trends, sharing knowledge with your team and shaping the quality practice at Mantel.

• Collaborate & Adapt: Work closely with cross-functional Digital teams, spanning software and hardware, adapting your quality approach flexibly to suit changing project and client needs.

What you’ll need to be successful: 

• Knowledge of current testing tools and emerging technologies - thought leadership in the testing space

• The ability to create and talk to test strategies with stakeholders

• Experience leading discussions and managing stakeholders

• A flexible and adaptive mindset to adjust ways of working in a team from a quality perspective

• A deep expertise of Web, API and/or Mobile testing

• Skilled in building test automation frameworks from scratch including BDD & TDD

• Experience in performance testing and load testing would be highly regarded

• Demonstrated skill writing code & scripting in Javascript/Node.js &/or Java is highly regarded

• Able to effectively utilise development best practices such as CI/CD and promote excellent Quality Assurance practices

• Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must
